It's not me that's crying

New photographic work regarding the experience of living with bipolar disorder. The data collected during the illness will provide the content and structure of a series of photographic strips with a sequential structure. These images will work as intimate self-portraits.

The images will be accompanied by some text. I have worked collaboratively with the poet Francisco Pereiro to produce this work, because of his own literary production regarding personal crisis. Together we have developed visual poems that stem form the writings and notes taken during the illness.

Mireia Guitart graduated in 2002 with a BA(Hons) at The University of Barcelona. Francisco Pereiro graduated in English BA (Hons) from the University of Vigo.

For this exhibition, Mireia Guitart received a 'Grant for the Arts' award from Arts Council England.
