Circle of Confusion - 25 to 29 May
The ‘Circle of Confusion’ brings together an eclactic group of emerging photographers. Their broad range of visual styles aims to p[rovoke a discourse between ideas of the artist or the photographer, documenter or creator and voyeur and intruder. As boundaries blur, the perceptions of distinction between fine art and commercial photography erode and a unique way of seeing evolves. The work in this show arrives from several different starting points but through being shown together a delicate wave of enthusiasm for capturing the poignancy of our time becomes evident. Showing at the recently opened Nolias Gallery, the work demonstrates the uses of re-enactment, obsessive documentary and fantastical vistas.

The Majestic World - 22 to 28 September
Andrew Hewish continues his fascination with the art-historical tension between the theatrical and monumental form and its expression in the history of North-Italian and Venetian painting; in Piero Della Francesca, the Bellini family, Giambatista Tiepolo and Francesco Gaudi. Further inspiration is drawn from the fantasies of Louis Boulee and Giovanni Piranesi, the photography of Bernd and Hilla Becher, the paintings of Phillip Guston, Peter Doig, Daniel Richter and Herman Bas, and the films of Alfred Hitchcock and Richard Brooks.
